Turkey in da Crock

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Turkey breast unthawed or thawed enough to clean out rib cage.
  2. Wedge half of an apple, a stick of celery cut in two & half an onion up inside the rib cage. (If it's a big cavity you can place more apple, celery & onion.)
  3. Put turkey breast side up into crock pot.
  4. Pour a can of chicken broth over turkey & then pour a cup of apple cider over.
  5. Salt & pepper & close with lid.
  6. Cook 3 to 4 hours on high or 6 to 8 hours on low.

The story behind it

This was born out of wanting a smaller & moister turkey that I could fix & forget about . The apple cider was a fluke because I was out of stock & it became a keeper. It makes amazing juice for gravy!
